Designing Financial Freedom

Weekend Wind Down 4/28/2012

April 28, 2012 by MMD 11 Comments

Following the last post “The Value of What You Know”, I found a hilarious example to use as a follow-up and lighten the mood. What is it that this guy “knows” and is using to draw value from others? … Fighting Zombies of course!!!

That’s right! There is a place in South Jersey that is offering a “Zombie Survival Course”. The program prepares you for the “upcoming zombie apocalypse” through teaching you to shoot guns, hot wire cars, perform first aid, and even the martial arts of “Zombitsu”. So how much does it cost to learn these life-saving survival skills? Packages run anywhere from $149 to $425 per person! Click on the video to see some great footage (I apologize in advance for the advertisement in the beginning).

In personal news: Did you miss me yesterday? My day unfortunately began with a brief trip to the ER after a small scare during a minor operation. I passed out and the doctor felt as though I may have demonstrated symptoms of a seizure!! However, at the ER, it was ruled that it wasn’t a seizure and that I was instead experiencing Vasovagal syndrome. Apparently something as small as being poked by a needle can trigger me to become unconscious. So much for ever trying to be a tough-guy again!

In blog news: I’ve been receiving a significant increase in requests for guest posts and advertising interest. I’m glad to finally see some attention from potential business partners! And another thing I’m really excited about – my Google Adsense has made over $16 this month! Yeah!! $16!! I know some of you who make $1,000 per month in blog revenue will sneeze at this, but I’m pretty proud! I’m still completely fascinated that complete strangers clicking on my ads have the potential to create revenue for me. To them I say “Thank You!”

I think my wife was more scared than me. She really hates this kind of stuff.

Haha that zombie survival course video is too funny. That would actually be pretty fun to take part in.

Sorry to hear about hospital scare. Glad it wasn’t anything too serious though.

I would love to take that course! Especially for the Zombie martial arts. Maybe I can spend my Google Adsense revenue on it 🙂

Thanks on the medical issue. I’m glad it was nothing too!

I’m really glad it wasn’t deemed a seizure too. I can deal with passing out, but seizures are a whole new level!

Have you seen the show Doomsday Preppers? I can’t believe the amount of people who are preparing for a huge apocalypse. I see people actually paying that much for that class. lol

I hope your hospital trip was ok. I’d be excited for $16 in adsense too. I was thrilled to make $6 last month.

I have seen the commercials for Doomsday Preppers, but I haven’t actually watched an episode. Is one of the things they’re prepping for Zombies? Do they know something we don’t 🙂

Thanks on the ER trip. As far as I know, I’m okay!

If we keep it up, do think we’ll ever make $100 in Google Adsense each month? That would be pretty impressive!

The zombie course looks like it would be pretty fun! My Adsense isn’t so high these days, but paying for the hosting + domain isn’t so bad 😉

    Thanks for the inclusion!

You’re welcome! If Adsense isn’t adding up, what are you doing to supplement? Private ad sales?
