It’s finally really nice outside. And when it’s nice outside, that can mean only one thing: It’s time to BE outside and enjoy it! That’s where my head has been at lately. I’m very fond of the Spring and Summer time because it means not being cooped up inside the house all day. I’m looking forward to going to some outside events, making the yard look beautiful, and spending some much needed quality time with the family. While those are all certainly great life aspects to celebrate, I’m afraid that limits the amount of time I have to be a productive blogger. But who wants to have their nose stuck to a computer screen anyways when there are things going on? For the past few months I may have burned myself out trying to pump out … [Read more...] about Blogger Fatigue and Favorite Posts
Exploring My 401k Alternatives – Maybe More Dividend Stocks?
So I’ve been thinking … Last year I wrote a post about how I was thinking about diverting some of the money we were contributing to our 403b retirement fund towards our dividend stocks instead. This was somewhat of a controversial move because traditional personal finance advice is to invest in your tax-sheltered accounts, not your taxable accounts! After all, why would you want to save your money in an account where you have to pay taxes? But it wasn’t that simple. There were several more alluring reasons why investing in dividend stocks would make more sense: … [Read more...] about Exploring My 401k Alternatives – Maybe More Dividend Stocks?

Building My Money Earning Sites – Niche Website Update Part 5
I’ve got to admit that I’m slightly frustrated. Ever since the Google penalty was removed from my niche website, I was happy to see it go from as low as Number 40 and stabilized between No. 16 and 20. But then over April it hasn’t really moved too much beyond that … Obviously the goal with building these money earning sites is to make some money! With Google Adsense as my major monetization stream for this site (for now), I’m not going to receive nearly as much action on the bottom of SERP 2 as I would if I were at the No. 1 spot. That’s why cracking the Top 10 spots by getting to the first page of Google and eventually the number 1 spot is absolutely imperative if I want to see any amount of significant income. And so that leads … [Read more...] about Building My Money Earning Sites – Niche Website Update Part 5
Accidental Organic Optimization for My Money Niche Site
I’m not sure if I just made up a new phrase here with Accidental Organic Optimization, but I can’t think of what else to call it. Here’s the funny thing I noticed this week about my niche site IRA vs 401k Central.com: … [Read more...] about Accidental Organic Optimization for My Money Niche Site
Ask the Readers – Would You Support the Privatization of Social Security Accounts?
It’s official: According to a recent article on CNN Money, you can now expect to receive less from Social Security than what you paid into it them. Here are the figures: $600,000 paid in. $579,000 in expected benefits. This will come as no surprise to the skeptics and nay-sayers who have long felt that Social Security has been heading south and in need of some desperate revision. In the spirit of conversation, I thought this topic would make an interesting “Ask the Readers” topic: If the government were willing try something different, would you be in favor of the privatization of Social Security accounts? … [Read more...] about Ask the Readers – Would You Support the Privatization of Social Security Accounts?
