Weekend Wind Down 7/07/2012

Why is it SOOO hot outside? This heat wave is really making it hard to stay motivated to do anything in our yard.

Fortunately, we did get our pool back to normal – after we emptied it and then refilled it with clean water. Being able to cool off in the pool has been pretty useful these last few weeks!

Canadians – I’ll be visiting your sacred heartland of Niagara Falls next week for a short Me and the Mrs vacation. We’re very excited to be staying right in the middle of downtown near the action. It should be a lot of fun!

you must live in the midwest!

we are on our 10th straight day of 100+ temperatures right now, and i am getting a bit tired of it. i have managed to water my front yard enough in the evenings to keep it from turning completely brown, but my water bill will surely be double normal as a result.

thanks for links, my friend.. stay cool out there!

Yes we do, and it is really becoming exhausting. The kids don’t want to go outside to play, our yard is getting neglected, and we’ve been running the A/C non-stop. Good idea with watering in the evening. We’ve got our sprinklers set for 5 AM. My yard is a sad green, but it beats the golden wheat color of the other yards in my neighborhood. Not looking forward to the water bill either! Stay cool out there!

So glad the heat finally broke here in northeast Ohio…started to fill up a pool for the grandkids that are visiting–one of those not quite kiddie pools/not quite real pools–and then realized how low our well was. We got our beach bag packed and took a short drive instead. The pool is going back in the garage for another time.

The heat finally broke for us as well. Pools are great, but nothing beats the beach when you’re a little kid 🙂

I always like to read Jason’s blog updates at Work Save Live. He produces a ton of great content.

I bet filling up the pool was expensive. As long as you get to enjoy it now though it should make it worth it 🙂

I like Jason’s updates as well. He does a good job of presenting them with modesty. And he’s kicking my butt in ranks!

We finally got a “cold” front and now we’re at 90 degrees (at the high) instead of 105! I just walked outside and it’s extremely cool. Ahhhh…I missed this.

Thanks for the mention by the way!

Thanks Sicorra! We bought a “couples package” which is full of credits to a ton of different activities and restaurants. It’s going to be a very busy weekend!
