Weekend Wind Down 9/02/2012 – Labor Day Weekend

Sorry if I blew your mind posting on Sunday rather than Saturday, but that’s how I roll this weekend. We’re taking this easy!  Its Labor Day break, and that means one extra day off work! Yea!

Did anyone else catch the Clint Eastwood Republican Convention speech? What was up with that? First of all, the poor guy looks to be +100 years old. Couldn’t someone have combed his hair before he got up there? And he seemed to lose track of his own jokes at times. I’m not sure what they were trying to accomplish with this.

Blog News:

August is now behind us and my stats were a smidge better than they were last month. I’ll take it – improvement is improvement.

This week on the posts, we’ll start off a little heavy and talk about what you want to do with your life. The inspiration for this comes after hearing about one of my wife’s colleagues retiring in her late 40’s, and then realizing that that’s not that far away!

On Wednesday we’ll tackle the super sexy subject of Social Security benefits. That may sound lame, but it’s worth knowing the basics and making this a part of your retirement design!

Link Love – Blogs You Should Check Out:

In case you missed them, here are a few great stories you should check out this weekend:

  • And speaking of funny perspectives, this one is ultra creative!  Read Jen’s Mom’s (yes her Mom) post on Living at Home—The Parent’s Perspective

I am still a big fan of Clint. It’s awesome that your wife’s friend is retiring at young age. Time is more valuable as we grow older, so all the best to her.

Clint Eastwood is the man! Gran Torino was outstanding!

We’re very impressed that she was able to retire so young. This gives us plenty of hope!!

OMG the Clint thing was so weird. I had to turn it off. Well, that and I had no interest really in the RNC. lol!

The Clint Eastwood thing was the highlight of the night! I was getting kind of bored of the press on the Republications, but that really made it interesting.

I need to quit obsessing over my blog stats… eats up too much time!

No only obsess because you’re doing so well! A PR4 is not to be taken lightly. You’ve done good!

I’m still trying to figure how to simply drum up more traffic in general. At the moment I’m stumped …

Great attitude with the stats; all those little smidges will add up over time, just like saving money does. 🙂

PS- Thanks for sharing my mom’s guest post.

      You’re welcome! I’m hoping I can pull the ultimate stat boost – a PR3 🙂
