Happy Easter Weekend – Plus Blog Updates

Happy Easter WeekendIs everyone ready for for a happy Easter weekend?  I’m thankful for the short work week, but we’re going to need every minute of it.  There’s going to be all kinds of driving around and visiting with family.  Easter is particularly tough this year because it is so close to our kids’ birthdays and they already got so much stuff already.  But here it comes anyways, so bring on the candy!

Also this week, our house is looking very sad on the inside.  We’re going to take advantage of the spring break time and get the house painted, so everything is off the walls and packed away.  It kind of reminds me of when we’d move in or out of a new apartment and the place was bare.  However, I’m also looking forward to that “new paint” smell and having the interior feel fresh again.

Blog Updates:

If anyone would like to help me out, I’d really appreciate you voting for my How to Achieve Financial Freedom post in Round 2 of the Free Money Finance March Madness contest.  All you have to do is comment with the word “achieve”.

In other news, my efforts to optimize old blog posts are showing some promise.  In the last two weeks, I was able to take a post that was ranking +500 for a particular keyword and bring it to page 1 of Google!  Using some of my newly acquired niche building talents and applying them to my main site, I believe I can make all kinds of improvements to my site.  But it will take a decent amount of work and focus, so I’ll have to limit myself to only a few of them at a time.

Thanks CBB, and Happy Easter to you as well! As a matter of fact, I did already post my secrets. I simply recycled my strategy from my niche site building and tested it on one of my posts. I’m very pleased with the results!

Thank you very much! I do appreciate the vote!

Fortunately we’ll be outsourcing the painting to someone more qualified than myself to do it.

Happy Easter also to you. This is the best time to have a little bonding with the kids especially now that spring season is finally here.

Thank you! Yes, this is a great time to spend with the kids. They blow through those Easter eggs so fast! All that planning and filling eggs, and they had the hunt completed in under 10 minutes!

Happy Easter. Congrats on the google success. The other day I got an unexpected payout from paypal (I have a few articles on the old associated content (now yahoo voices or something like that). One of my articles was the top search result for my niche on google (cool). I wrote the article a few years back and never had many views, how it became the top search result in google I don’t know, but I’m happy for that extra $30.

Congrats on your article. It’s kind of funny how Google ranks and mixes things up, and sometimes your old work can resurface to the top for no reason. Making a little money from something like that is never bad either! Now if you could just figure out replicate the same thing on your site, you could make potentailly a lot more from Adsense or affiliate income!

You crafty blogger, you with the page 1 post. I can only dream. My daughter’s birthday was 2 days before Easter. Sugar overload at our house. Thanks for mentioning my post.

Thanks! Now if only I had enough time, energy, and luck to re-create that same success for every blog post! 🙂

So you have March babies as well? My kids not only have too many toys now, but they also have WAY too much candy as well. I’ll be taking a big bowl of it to work to try to thin the supply.

Isn’t it amazing how just a few easy changes can make a world of difference for how you rank in Google? Gotta love all that free traffic it will bring you! Good to hear some of those SEO tactics are working for single blog posts, not just niche sites.

Thanks Matt! It really is incredible how just a few tweaks and some backlinks can really change your position. I was happy to see the similarities in strategy between the niche site and blog post. But I will admit that I found it slightly harder to get one post to rank. For example, when you’re using comments to get links, you usually don’t have the luxury of posting a link to your site unless you slide it somewhere in the text. But then I always feel spammy doing that.
