The House is Painted – Plus Blog Updates

The House is PaintedFinally!  Yet another improvement is complete and the house is painted.  For pretty much this whole week the inside of our home looks like it went into foreclosure.  All our stuff was off the walls, the curtains were down, holes were patched, and all our furniture was pushed into the center of each room.  It was very cramped.  But now it’s over and everything is slowly coming back together.

I really don’t mind paying someone else to paint our house because 1) painting sucks and 2) I’m not very good at it.    For the right price, I’m finding out that some jobs are just better left in the hands of professionals who can get done what it would take me weeks to do (or possibly re-do).

Blog News:

This week I was honored to have two great blogs host two of my guest posts:

  • Budget and the Beach – Create Wealth that Matters
  • Plunged in Debt – How Can I Be Rich? Retraining Your Mind to Think Like a Capitalist

Thanks a lot ladies for your hospitality!

I hope everyone is getting their blogs ready for the anticipated PageRank update that is likely to happen about a month from now in early May.   If you need some assistance in this area, I plan to publish a post about everything I know about PageRank next week.  Even though I’m not an expert with a lot PR6 sites or anything like that, I can tell you that I have struggled my way up to a PR 3 with experiment and trial-and-error.  If you’re frustrated with your own PR progress, then some of this information may prove useful.

I appreciate you highlighting Funancials. I agree that some jobs are best left to the professionals. Whenever I have a task such as painting and I really don’t want to DIY, I chalk it up as my economic stimulus. Anything I can do to help…it’s thoughtful, really.

That’s a great perspective 🙂 I guess in that regard, I don’t mind keeping the economy going!

Thanks so much for the mention MMD, I really appreciate it! I agree on hiring a pro to get something done, we’re actually getting our master bath redone next week and have hired someone…otherwise it’d be a mess. Looking forward to your PR post. Have a great weekend!

You’re welcome. That’s wise to outsource the bathroom work. Anything with plumbing you can pretty much count me out.

Thanks for the mention MMD. Glad your house is painted! We will probably paint ourselves when we finally decide to do it.

Good luck with that Lance. Painting is okay for me if its one room or so. It just takes a lot of patience.

So much word about painting. I know people who love it. I can’t stand everything about it…except what it looks like when it’s done. 🙂 Thanks again for your guest post this week!

Love that note, it’s so true. I hate painting myself and am not very good at it. So you’re in good company.
    Thanks for the shout out.

When I found that picture, I thought it was perfect. There was no negotiating on the colors with the Mrs.

I’m with you, painting sucks, it is so time consuming and I never seem to get it the way I am happy with it.

Same here. I always tend to goop it up, or see brush strokes, or make a mess, etc. Sometimes for the right price its better just to let someone else do it.

I actually wondered if there had been a PR update this week since my spam saw a huge uptick! Just Akismet being overwhelmed, I think. LOL at that sign – made me think of My Pretty Pennies’ post today on gendered home decor.

Is your blog on Technorati or another news site? MMD has shot up to the top 10 a few times now, and that’s when I see a huge increase in spam comments.

Having a house repainted is quite a tedious task. And I have the smell of fresh paint.
